Update on Sammy

Sammy is doing wonderfully. He's a happy, hungry little boy. He weighs about 30 pounds and is 36 inches tall (a big jump from 21 pounds and 30 inches a year ago).
He is currently going to speech once a week in order to get him to start speaking; however, he understands EVERYTHING and is even starting to write his letters and pretend to read his books to me. We believe that one huge factor in his lack of speech is just his stubborness. Like his initial report stated, he's very obstinate. He does say "NO" very clearly and to everything.
Even though he can be difficult at times, he is also a very loving, sweet, charming, little fellow who has the best smile in the world (just look at his little picture). He has bonded to us very well and is in many ways, just a rambunctious, healthy boy.
Speaking of health, he has seen a pediatric heart specialist and it seems that the surgery on his heart was done very well and the hole in his heart is completely patched. The surgeon says he can do everything any typical child can do, so don't treat him differently. We are thrilled about this.
